David Horton & Associates, Inc.
David Horton established Horton & Associates in 1982 at a kitchen table in a rural farm house and within the year an Auto Appraiser joined him. The company grew and fellow Adjusters joined him, necessitating the construction in 1983 of a free-standing 1000 square foot building in his back yard, heated by a wood burning stove. The company prospered, adding Real Estate appraising, Insurance Investigators, and Private Investigating.

Continued growth led to the purchase in 1990 of the Bond Building at 211 E. Baltimore in downtown Jackson. The building was constructed in 1819 for a law office and is listed on the Historic Register. With historic preservation in mind, renovations were made and the business moved in mid-1990. The Horton-Bond Building contained approximately 3320 square feet of office and apartment/meeting facilities. The business was incorporated in 2001, becoming David Horton & Associates, Inc..

In the 2003 tornado that struck the downtown Jackson area, the Horton-Bond Building was severely damaged. The office moved into the basement of the Horton's residence in Madison County and then into a basement of another downtown building, never missing a beat in providing quality services to customers.

Renovations including a New Orleans style balcony were made and the office reopened in May of 2004 with office and meeting facilities.

In 2009 David Horton & Associates, Inc. celebrated its 27th Anniversary of business.
